Judith Schaechter is such a talent. I first came across her work at the 2002 Whitney Biennial. And Charles Burns! How I love Black Hole.

As far as Mr. Burns: I run into him once in a great while. He's friendly with friends of mine. He always strikes me as somewhat reserved, but that may be because when we have run into one another, it's when I'm walking into a bar with a gas mask and overalls or something. Over the years I've had several encounters with him, each time in a different incarnation. Of course, he probably has never made the connection between all those encounters, and surmised they're the same person. After all: why would he?

I recall Ms. Schaechter being sort of local (PA, right?), but I had no idea about Mr. Burns...is he a Jersey boy?

Judith lives in South Philly, and Burns lives in NoLibs, or at least he used to.
