These are starting to peter out where I am... They are at their headiest in late winter early spring here in Southern Cal.

They're Datura, aren't they? I always wanted one, but was afraid my child could poison himself on it.

Brugmansia, a South American relative. Very poisonous and hallucinogenic. Definitely made the right call not having either of these plants around until after your child is old enough to avoid them.

Oh, it is. The berries appeal to children, too, which makes it even moreso.
