WHAT'S IN HERE?

Jack-in-the-Pulpit! Some were almost four feet tall.

Beautiful! I love the walk way. BTW, I finished Against Nature recently and constantly thought of you.

And I really want to go to the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge. It looks amazing.

One day I want to visit you.

Of course--you'd probably want to visit Webb's Mill bog come high summer. Plenty to see!

I'd say you live a charmed life. But that would take away credit from the work you've done to live the life you do.

You have no idea how much I look forward to seeing your flora and fauna updates each morning as I drink my cup of tea. For a long time, they were the only green I was seeing. But the Midwest is finally in bloom.

Best,

b

I'd have to agree with you: I wake up every morning not quite believing our good fortune. But yes, it wasn't easy: It took fifteen years of hard work and risk-taking to get here. But I doubt anyone visits my journal to hear me prattle on about that!

The northeast is an unbelievably lush place--a fact I almost forget sometimes.

so, so very agreed. I have come back from my dreary corner of Baltimore to be completely in awe of the beauty along the Hudson that i kind of wrote off during high school. In fact, I just turned down a city job so i could spend more time exploring the lushness in my town.

We have those in small, Arisarum vulgare (although it's even more purple). Old belief says that wherever this plant grows is the habitat of a snake. So yes, I'll watch my steps when seeing one. ;)

Reminds me of one of the trails at Laudholm Farm in Maine.

Did you venture off the wooden walkway to get the Jack pictures?

A helpful reminder...

These photos reminded me to take a stroll through the Wissahickon Valley, one of the best sections of Fairmount Park.

Beautiful. I have a feeling I would adore the Philadelphia area outdoors in the summer.
