The song is called "Palo Bonito" by Spanish Pop singer, Chayanne!
I grew up with that song hehe.

Charming.

One time the family of a resident brought in a parrot and I promptly fell in love. (And apparently parrots love my strawberry blonde hair.) I would have run out and gotten one if it wasn't for the fact that it probably would be too expensive, we have cats at home, and I tend to be a very poor caretaker.

Parrots and their smaller relatives are rather bad impulse buys, since they (1) have lifespans of 20+ years, (2) form strong attatchments to members of their flock/household, and (3) need a great deal of socializing with their caretakers. That kind of decision makes for a lot of unhappy owners and birds.

Er. Which is to say you might want to go with a budgie instead, if the impulse takes you. Betta fish are awfully pretty too.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I have a personal rule of not seriously considering owning animals unless I am sure I can be completely responsible for it. Perhaps someday I might get to be an auntie to a parrot.
