It was commissioned by Douglas Little--I've done some copywriting for him, and have also signed books at his trunk show at Barneys.

It's exuberance is overwhelming. Not exactly subtle, but you have to admire the craftsmanship and daring.

Yes. It requires quite a bit of daring to make such intricate stuff with something so breakable.

His stuff would not last in my house.

I almost hope it gets destroyed at some point, so that some colorful lore can form around it. The speculation about a lost extraordinary object is often better than the thing itself.

Sometimes, though subtle just has to be outstripped. Subtlety is a beautiful thing, but there are some places that it just can't reach.

I like the "pseudoelectric devices" sculpture on his page. Espeically the one with the tiny tesla coils.

they need to be from this company, for they apprently only use butterflies that have perished of old age!!
