JUST A THOUGHT
Forgive my ignorance, since I have a glass of wine on my lap instead of an open copy of the Chicago Manual of Style, but is there any instance in the English language when an accent may appear over an "s"? I can only assume not, since it is a consonant. Anyway, I was thinking that for more effeminate writers, such a device might be useful when one wished to indicate a lisp. Thoughts? ~W |

THROW ANOTHER PITCHER ON, WILL YOU?
This weekend, I found these pretty little glass vessels whose color and elegant, strong shape reminded me of my pitcher plants. Since no one else seemed to want them (they were on clearance), I bought the lot and brought them home. I found a round mirror that suggested a pool of water, and the tea lights are like a spectral bed of moss enveloping the 'pitchers'. It's a kind of votive bog-altar, emanating a red glow from my fireplace. Reminds me of a Cornell box from his dovecote period. I just love it.( Pics behind cut ) |
