WHIMSY DOINGS
Been terribly busy, so I am forced to post en masse:

LEHIGH TIMES: Did a couple short readings at Lehigh University Friday night. Met some delightful people, including fellow Ljer, [info]fitzjustice and his lovely companion, K. Hope to do a reading at the local cavern this spring!

WHIMSY: YALE MAN: Thanks to an unknown reader of the nonsense I post here on this journal, the Yale library has ordered a copy of my book for its collection. While I am over the moon at the very thought and am extremely grateful, I should warn my kind patrons that this is the very worst sort of encouragement possible, as I will never cease to inflict my crackpot ideas on you if indulged in this way.

NO GARAMOND, I: Just got my annual royalty check from my type foundry, [t-26], for sales of my font, Apogee. Amazed anyone still buys the thing--I designed it back in 1994. Nice to have an unexpected little bonus in the mail right now, given our current needs.

HOMESTEADING: New house has taken up much of my energies this week: I've been painting the walls of my library (robin's egg blue) and den (bottle green), and dealing with contractors, artisans and mere laborers (tile, french doors, wood floor refinishing, etc). The chimneysweeps came today to do some maintenance on the, well, chimney. The gentleman who fixed our fireplace's smoke chamber actually grew up in the house. The pencil height marks inside the coat closet are from his family, so I promised him that I would never paint over them. Small world.

LETTER(IM)PRESSED: In the post today: a parcel from San Francisco. Inside was an absolutely gorgeous card with kind sentiments, and a cd of the Elemer Bernstein soundtracks from the short films of Charles and Ray Eames, which I am eagerly awaiting to hear. Thank you, [info]bricology!

ALL WHIMSY MUST GO: My trusty tailor has informed me that less than ten pocket squares/signed books now remain. Kindly inquire at Lord Willy's.
